DESCRIPTION:Presented by Yehudah Mirsky\, Department of Near Eastern and Judaic Studies\, Brandeis University \nRav (Rabbi) Abraham Isaac Kook was the first Ashkenazi chief rabbi of the Land of Israel\, an important theologian\, a foundational thinker of religious Zionism\, and the Zionist movement’s most influential and controversial rabbinic advocate. Prof. Yehuda Mirsky (Brandeis University) will examine how Rav Kook’s very unconventional Zionism emerged from decades of meditation on metaphysics\, ethics\, and the distinctive spiritual challenges of modernity. DESCRIPTION:Local governments of all sizes are facing increasing threats to their fiscal and economic health\, community well-being\, and environmental resources. These agencies often will work with researchers to determine how best to address these challenges. \nThis panel\, hosted by the New Jersey State Policy Lab\, will include presentations from Elizabeth Bell\, Assistant Professor at the University of Texas LBJ School of Public Affairs\, and Aaron Deslatte\, P.D.\, Associate Professor at the Indiana University O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Each will discuss their experiences handling researcher-practitioner partnerships with federal\, state\, and local agencies and provide recommendations for better tailoring research incentives in universities with research needs in communities. \nRegister Here
