SUMMARY:Laundry Literacy Initiative: Spanish Book Drive for New Brunswick Families
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Laundry Literacy Initiative: Spanish Book Drive for New Brunswick Families\, supporting the Wash and Learn Program at Roosevelt Elementary School. Founded by Ms. Anne-Marie\, a dedicated teacher\, this unique laundromat literacy initiative addresses the “book desert” in New Brunswick by creating a welcoming space for families to read while doing laundry. The program encourages children and parents to read together\, fostering stronger family connections and promoting literacy in the community. \nWith a growing number of Spanish-speaking families in the area\, there is an urgent need for Spanish-language books. Your donations will help provide these families with access to culturally relevant and engaging reading materials. Children attending the Wash and Learn sessions will benefit from one-on-one reading support\, book giveaways\, and fun STEM\, craft\, or game activities. \nThis event invites students and staff to help us make a difference by donating new or gently used Spanish-language books. Together\, we can inspire a love of reading and support the literacy growth of our community! \nDonation boxes will be placed throughout the Bloustein School building. Sponsored by the Bloustein School Diversity\, Equity\, Inclusion and Belonging Committee.
