Asian countries say they slowed the COVID-19 outbreak. Are we doing something wrong?

The mainstay of COVID-19 prevention in the United States has been social distancing to flatten-the-curve. However, casual contact is unavoidable, especially among those who live or work in multi-unit buildings. Despite the geographic proximity to China, other Asian countries — including Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan – appear to have controlled the community spread of the coronavirus. This begs the question: What have these Asian countries done differently to control the outbreak?
