Larrousse selected as chair of American Public Transportation Association's Human Resources Board

August 8, 2016

Paul Larrousse, Director of the National Transit Institute, was elected chair of the Human Resources Board of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA). Paul’s term on the board will be for three years and as chair will have a seat on the APTA’s Board of Directors. Paul has also been asked to serve on the search committee for the new APTA CEO and President.

APTA is a leading force in advancing public transportation. APTA membership encompasses both public organizations engaged in bus, paratransit, light and commuter rail, subways, high-speed rail, and ferry services, and companies that plan, design, construct, finance, supply and operate bus and rail services worldwide. Government agencies, metropolitan planning organizations, state departments of transportation, academic institutions and trade publications are also part of its membership.

The National Transit Institute, at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, was established under the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 to develop, promote, and deliver training and education programs for the public transit industry. In 1999, it became part of the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center, housed at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. NTI is funded by a grant from the Federal Transit Administration.
