Call for Nominations for Rutgers Beloved Community Initiatives

The Committee to Advance Our Common Purposes (CACP) of University Equity and Inclusion is excited to announce the call for award nominations and art submissions for the following Beloved Community Initiatives and have extended the deadline: 

  •  Clement A. Price Human Dignity Awards  Deadline extended to March 25, 2022 
    • This award recognizes outstanding individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary achievement and commitment to promoting and practicing diversity, inclusion, equity, and access within the university and/or in partnership with community organizations. 
    • One staff and one faculty member will be awarded; Accepting nominations from all students, faculty, and staff members from all chancellor-led units and central administration.

  • Beloved Community Awards    Deadline extended to March 25, 2022 
    • This award recognizes individuals throughout the university who most exemplify the aims of our beloved community, one in which all members are working together and are heard, respected, and valued. 
    • All students, faculty, staff, or groups are eligible to participate from all chancellor-led units and central administration. 
    • Six winners will be selected and will each receive a $1,000 award.

  • Beloved Community Arts Project  Deadline is March 25, 2022   
    • This project solicits artistic expressions—short essays, poetry, short videos, performance, and visual artwork—of how the beloved community is defined and expressed at Rutgers University. 
    • All students, faculty, staff, or groups are eligible to participate from all chancellor-led units and central administration. 
    • Artistic categories include: (1) Literary Arts, (2) Performing Arts, and (3) Visual Arts & Film
    • First prize winners in each category will receive $1000, second prize winners $500, third prize winners $200, and fourth prize winners $100.
