On this episode of Public Health America Dr. Latimer speaks with Jim Samuel, who is an Associate Professor and Executive Director of Informatics Programs at the Bloustein School at Rutgers University. Dr. Samuel is an information and artificial intelligence (AI) scientist, with significant industry experience in AI, data analytics, finance and technology. Dr. Samuel’s primary research covers human intelligence and artificial intelligence interaction and AI philosophy. His applied research focuses on the optimal use of big data and smart data driven AI applications, natural language processing, natural language understanding and generation, public opinion informatics and AI education. Dr. Samuel has published numerous notable papers, serves in editorial roles, and has developed multiple AI courses and two graduate programs; he has worked with multinational financial services corporations, and presently also provides consulting and advisory services to businesses and institutions on informatics and AI driven value creation strategies.
