Bloustein alumnus Manz to participate in TEDxBroadStreet event, Nov. 2

On Saturday, November 2, 2013, Bloustein alumnus Emily Manz MCRP ’13, who lives in the Ironbound section and works as an Associate of Real Estate and Business Attraction at Brick City Development Corporation, will participate in the TEDxBroadStreet “Reach. Rise. Revive” event at Rutgers Business School. Manz also leads monthly tours of the city through her personal initiativeHave You Met Newark?, co-leads the Tumblr “Letters from the Most Unfriendly City in the World“, and is an avid promoter of Newark on and off social media.

Created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading,” TEDxBroadStreet, locally developed and organized, will give Newark stakeholders the opportunity to stimulate dialogue and create positive grass roots change on a variety of topics critical to the revitalization and sustainability of the city.  TEDxBroadStreet’s speakers and performance artists will address a range of topics carefully selected by Newark community stakeholders including the Newark brand, economic inclusion and buying local, community healing, sustainable neighborhoods, healthy food access, youth empowerment, and women in leadership.
