IAAO selects PhD candidate Cory Yemen for Academic Partnership Program grant

The International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) Research Subcommittee has selected a project titled “Vertical Equity: Developing a More Informative PRB with Quantile Regression” by Cory Yemen, a student at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, as a 2016 grant recipient.

Through the Academic Partnership Program IAAO provides financial support for academic researchers to conduct research in areas related to property appraisal, assessment administration, and property tax policy.

Mr. Yemen is enrolled in the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy under the faculty advisement of Michael L. Lahr. His final paper is expected to appear in the Journal of Property Tax Assessment & Administration in 2017.

The Academic Partnership Program is now in its fifth year, and has awarded four previous grants to academic researchers from Cornell University, Brigham Young University, the University of Ulster (Ireland), and the University of Georgia. Research studies were published in the Journal of Property Tax Assessment & Administration, a peer reviewed journal for practitioners. All undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty at accredited colleges/universities are eligible to apply for grants.
