The PSEG Foundation has awarded seed funds to help establish the New Jersey Climate Adaptation Alliance, a statewide network of policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders working together to move New Jersey forward in strategic planning and implementation to prepare the state for a changing climate. Rutgers will serve as a facilitator of the Alliance, which is a joint venture between the Climate and Environmental Change Initiativeat the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences and the Bloustein School, and will provide key technical and science support as appropriate.

Jeanne Herb, Research Administrator at the Bloustein School and Dr. Marjorie Kaplan, Associate Director of the Climate and Environmental Change Initiative are leading the effort on behalf of Rutgers.  The ultimate goal of this initiative is to assess climate vulnerability and preparedness needs for economically critical sectors in New Jersey and, through a fully engaged stakeholder process, develop and facilitate response implementation for New Jersey.
