Vonu Thakuriah is recipient of National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) Distinguished Alumni Award

Piyushimita (Vonu) Thakuriah, Distinguished Professor and former Dean of the Bloustein School, is the recipient of the National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) Distinguished Alumni Award for contributions to cross-disciplinary research in statistics and data science in the areas of urban informatics, smart cities, mobility analytics, and data justice.

The award is presented to former NISS postdocs or research associates who have had distinguished careers. The recognition was given at the Joint Statistical Meetings – American Statistical Association annual conference in Washington, D. C. on Aug 8, 2022.
