March 28, 2019

The Bloustein School recently held a panel discussion for undergraduate students considering careers in public health, global health, health administration and related fields, “What’s Next? Finding Your Pathway.” The well-attended program began with an engaging panel discussion featuring Bloustein alumni in the workforce.

Participating in the panel were Jacob Persily ’16 (Health Administration)/(MHA ’19), Decision Support Analyst in the Nursing Division, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital; Kamila Pavezzi ’12 (Public Health), MPH, CHES, Assistant Professor of Professional Practice at the Bloustein School; Tiara Owens ’17 (Health Administration)/(MHA Candidate); Derrick Web ’11 (Public Health)/HO, REHS, MPH, CPS, Deputy Director of Health/Assistant Health Officer, Township of Mount Olive; and Ryan Jeter (MPP candidate), Peace Corps Recruiter for Rutgers Global-Partnerships. Anita Franzione, DrPH, Assistant Teaching Professor at the Bloustein School, moderated the program.

The discussion provided general advice, tips when considering grad school or other opportunities, and how to find a mentor. It was followed by a ‘Coffee and Conversation’ hour, which gave students additional opportunities to talk with the panelists as well as faculty teaching in the Bloustein School.  The event was co-sponsored by the Bloustein School Undergraduate Program and the Office of Student and Academic Services.
