Emerging national, regional trends in consumer debt, credit access to be discussed at Sept. 19 conference

August 22, 2014

In the wake of the Great Recession, the credit viability of many consumers and their ability to access mainstream financial products has been challenged. What can we anticipate with household credit use and repair over the next decade?

On Friday, September 19 the Federal Reserve Banks of New York and Philadelphia and the Bloustein School are hosting a day-long conference, Assessing the Household Credit Recovery: Post-Crisis Developments in Credit Use & Credit Repair, to discuss emerging national and regional trends in consumer debt and access to credit, with a particular focus on how households in New Jersey are faring.

The event will be held at the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, 33 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ on the campus of Rutgers University. Speakers will share the latest research on trends in household lending, as well as emerging strategies for consumers to improve their balance sheets, repair credit, and gain access to mainstream financial products. Agenda

Space is limited and registration is required; please visit http://philadelphiafed.org/community-development/events/2014/assessing-the-household-credit-recovery/index.cfm to reserve your spot. For more information about this event, please contact Erin Mierzwa at (215) 574-6641 or erin.mierzwa@phil.frb.org
